COLOURFUL CABLES HAT

Materials:

Shepherd 'Colour 4 Me' 8 ply pure wool, 2 X 50g balls
3.75 mm (UK no. 9) circular needle
4.5 mm (UK no.7) circular needle
4.5 mm (UK no.7) double-pointed needles (4)
Cable needle, stitch marker

Gauge:

With 3.75 mm needles and K2, P2 rib:
36 sts = 10 cm

17 rows = 5 cm

Abbreviations:

K
- knit
P - purl
K2tog - knit two stitches together through the front of the loops
P2tog - purl
two stitches together through the front of the loops
SSK - slip two stitches as if to knit, transfer back to the left needle, knit together through the backs of the loops
C6F - slip 3 stitches onto the cable needle and hold to the front of your work, knit the next three stitches, then knit the three stitches on the cable needle


Pattern:

Band: Using 3.75 mm (UK no. 9) circular needle, cast on 132 stitches. Insert stitch marker.
Taking care not to twist the cast-on stitches,
K2, P2 rib for 20 rows.

Change to 4.5 mm (UK no.7) circular needle

We adopted an orphaned kitten who was 10 days old and have been syringe-feeding him with kitty formula. He's soooooo cuuute.
